Line Design Compliance Plan

The purpose of the Line Design Compliance Plan is to identify the current line design environment and create a structured process to improve the line design integrity of the utility.  It can be used as long-term documentation to identify the engineering procedures used for a specific year.  The plan will be specific for each utility and should be updated every two-years.  The Line Design Compliance Plan will include:

  • Acknowledgement completed by CEO and responsible charge engineer
  • Corporate requirements
  • Description of projects that require an engineer’s review
  • Description of line design calculations
  • Standards and Design Criteria
  • Procedures to obtain field information
  • Degree of accuracy with surveying techniques
  • Foreign utilities
  • Required software to perform calculations
  • Design guidelines
  • Construction management
  • Line design technician development and certification schedule
